BIOMEDICAL CENTER DE OCCIDENTE’s has been Puerto Vallarta’s Local Blood Bank and ally in medical matters. We work hard to increase the number of blood donations by working with all areas of the community, by hosting blood donation workshops, running quarterly blood drives, and in-school training.
Sangreton is a one of a kind event in which once a year, BIOMEDICAL CENTER DE OCCIDENTE and the local community have a blood drive. Sangreton works the same way as a telethon but with blood, each year we surpass our expected blood donorations, providing the local community an opportunity to participate to give life to others thru their donation.
Our transfusional medicine workshops are given free to local labs and hospitals; this has allowed the local medical providers to have education about how to establish medical protocols that can ensure the safe handling of blood and its components.
As port of BIOMEDICAL CENTER DE OCCIDENTE’s commitment to our local community we host in our facilities, medical training for students from Universidad de Guadalajara, allowing our new generation to be active and qualified for tomorrow’s medical needs. We are also part of the local teaching institutions as a medical liaison with knowledge exchange and technology transfers to their facilities.
